Lifestyle, Crafts & Skills

Homesteading that includes an agricultural and hospitality enterprise requires a
diverse group of skill sets that are applied in seasonal projects as well as everyday
lifestyle events. These include woodlot and logging, splitting , storage and fire
making craft. Food is an important part of our skills and we are always exploring
unique and tasty items that become part of our repertoire of offerings. Building
with wood and stone is another part of our infrastructure development which usually employees practical physics and low tech equipment and methods. We are constantly refining and improving our gravity spring water and irrigation systems. Composting
and using on farm byproducts to organically enhance our garden soil productivity is
another ongoing component that we practice. Our locale has abundant foraging and gathering opportunities throughout the season and these include wild-crafted
Permaculture, fruit, berries and wild mushrooms. We have experts with local knowledge
to lead a variety of field workshops as well.
